What can you do to help?

By Mama Bear , 1:25 PM

Palisades Village, a network of volunteers that supports seniors who choose to live and stay in our community, is looking for volunteers. Read on to learn how you can use your skills to help!

The wonderful volunteers who offer direct services to Palisades Village members - rides to the doctor or supermarket, minor home repairs, yard work, and many other services - are the lifeblood of Palisades Village, as it supports our older neighbors who want to continue to live in their own homes.

But we are equally dependent on those whose behind-the-scenes labors on the board and in committees are vital to sustaining and expanding our work in Berkley, Foxhall, Kent, and the Palisades.

We are seeking the help of energetic, qualified volunteers of all ages for our board and committees--volunteers who can devote 8 to 10 hours per month to help direct the growth of Palisades Village.

At this time, we are especially interested in finding neighbors with experience in the areas of finance and accounting, fundraising, membership development, or information technology.

To learn more, just reply to me at jodymcp@rcn.com, or call our president, Andy Mollison, at his home, 202-337-2315, or our executive director, Sonia Crow, at the Palisades Village office, 202-244-3310.

From Jody McPherson, Secretary/Treasurer of Palisades Village
